Clifford
T. Fleischbein The Ambassador's Praise Band was also sometimes called The San Diego Promise Keepers Praise Band. It was formed in 1995 and then fully developed in 1996 as the exclusive sound for men's worship, particularly Promise Keeper wakeup calls. Their mark was the ability to replicate the sound and songs of the national team Promise Keepers Praise Band. The talented artists that worked with Cliff in this band for men's ministry projects sounded just like the national records. With the use of MIDI technology, sound modules, LCD projectors, special sound reinforcement equipment, computers with Macromedia Director software, and some of the best male vocalists and instrumentalists in San Diego, it was possible to reproduce in small scale the very worship experience renown to P.K. Conferences. The talent and art in production of this worship service is to do it in such a way that the congregation does not notice the technology, nor do they sense that the music is "canned" like singing to a prerecorded tape or CD. Here are just a few of the praises and hymns reproduced by Cliff using this technology. The vocals and "live" instrumentation are missing.
The words to each song are automatically put on screen in real time while the music plays. During moments of interlude in the music, the name JESUS is projected to focus the congregation. The songs don't just stop and start creating a "blocked" feel to the service. Instead, deliberate pauses are put in a song and between songs to allow the worship leader and the congregation to meditate on the moment as well as the last movement of music worship. Space is created to allow the free movement of God's spirit among the congregation. Sometimes a word is given from the congregation. Sometimes an acopellic song is sung between the "planned" song list. The format allows for orderly but spontaneous improvisation of worship and praise in song and word.
