Worship

I want to know God
and in my praise
make Him be known.

Worshipping Jehovah God is the missing jewel of modern society. There are too many gentiles, too many Christians that do not know how to freely worship God, or even know why worship is our primary responsibility before Him. One can find assemblies that emphasize lectures, others that stress evangelism, and some that highlight fellowship in the congregation, ahh but worship is the priority desire and commandment from God. As His creation, we were made to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, and we choose to develop our love for Him through worship.

Worship is the pattern of the Hebrew scriptures. Everywhere you look in this Old Testament people are worshipping. They sing His praises, tell one another of His goodness, and recount the stories of how God has worked in history. They bow down before Him in humility and obedience, reverent before a God they know and trust. The worship of the Old Testament saints filled up much of their lives. Everything those believers did was centered around the expression of their love for God.

Worship was the practice of the New Testament. The lives and letters of the first Christians are filled with principles for worshipping God. Because of the access Christ's death on the cross brought them, they offer their bodies as living sacrifices to Him. In the New Testament we begin to see how worship is a reflection of our life in God. Our lives are changed and our spiritual walk is strengthened as we come before God and worship Him. It is the priority commandment in His Word.

But many people, some Christians, never experience the joy of worshipping God in spirit and truth. Modern society is filled with events for spectators who attend a meeting for the lecture, or who sit and enjoy "performances" up front. Unfortunately, those people are missing out on what God intended for them. One will never truly know God until they worship Him, and we will never really worship Him unless we know Him.

GoCliff dotcom worship services are designed to help one get to know God. God the Father is sitting on the throne in heaven, worthy of honor and glory and praise, awaiting your worship. He inhabits the praises of His people, and can be found there with them as they worship Him. He is a great God, a King above all gods who will be gloriously worshipped throughout all eternity. And He wants you to know Him.

Join me in the journey of exploring various passages of Scripture in music to discover what worship is and how we are to go about it. Worship with me while learning how to create a new song from our hearts in voice, instruments and dance as we worship God in spirit and truth.

Together we will see the greatness of God, His mighty hand in history and His lovingkindness that is without end, and learn to trust Him. And each one of us will learn to trust God in all things, only to be filled with an overwhelming need to worship Him for His greatness.

Worship takes many forms: music, singing, dancing, praying, praising, responding, giving God the best one has to offer. It is my prayer, as you grow in your worship you will begin to see how your worship reflects your spiritual state, and also how it can help you overcome your physical state by getting your eyes off your circumstances and onto your God.

I welcome you, I challenge you to join me in discovering the joy of worshipping God in spirit and truth.

In closing, take a moment to consider this...

Jesus once visited the home of friends and watched the reaction of two women. Martha filled her time with activity, running around in the presence of the Lord so that she could show she was busy for His sake. But Mary just sat at the feet of the Master and adored Him. When Martha complained about her sister's seeming inactivity, Jesus said, "Martha, you're running around doing a bunch of things, but only one thing is needful. Mary has chosen that one needful thing... to worship Me."

Again, it is my prayer that you will discover the joy of that one needful thing in your life...
