Drummer

Dennison Jackson, or DJ as he is known by his close friends, is Cliff's favorite drummer to play the skins on the projects. DJ's artistic skill is extrordinaire. Seldom can one find in one drummer proficiency in so many styles of music.

DJ started music in the 8th grade when he got a book from the library just so he could teach himself how to read music. By the time he was in the 11th grade he was playing professionally in night clubs.

His musical experience is the product of years performance from playing with the likes of:

The Young Americans
Bing Crosby
Johnny Mathis
Andy Williams
Henry Mancinni
and Shin Dig

Some of you might remember Shin Dig which became the opening show for the Pearl Bailey Lounge show. He also toured with the Official Tournament of Roses Band and performed for the Queen of England. While Dennison was enlisted in the Marine Corps he participated in the Marine Corps band orchestra. Upon his discharge from the Corps he proceeded to go on tour in Taiwan as a gospel drummer with 2 and 3 concerts daily featuring his drum solos.

DJ has a very good ear for listening to the other instruments in the band. He compliments their sounds by playing off their licks with some of the smoothest riffs one has ever heard a drummer pull out of drum skins.

His demeanor is joyful, his comments about the music scores being played are thought provoking and creative, and his experience as a professional musician shows in his overall attitude and approach to the other musicians and their music.

Quite simply, DJ is awesome, to watch and listen to, when he is on those drums!
